Yee Sang Dinner (with a special guest)

Yee Sang is a common practice for the Chinese during Chinese New Year. It consists of strips of raw fish mix with shredded vegetables and variety of tasty sauces and condiments. Yee Sang as many believe is the symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor. It's interesting that I had my Yee Sang dinner in a Mexican restaurant the El Cactus(regular dine out).

Year of the Tiger..Roar~

Red cloth and red lanterns can be seen hanging by the doors, decorations some made by hand proudly stay put as positioned. Families working as one to keep the house spotless and some preparing delicacies for the big day. Lion dancers wiping off cobwebs of their costumes as it is once again the time of the year to put on their best show. Chinese New Year celebration is yet another reason for another get together wit friend's and family. As i head down to Johor on the 30th date itself to pay my respect to my forebears and visiting my families while I'm there. Dint exactly take any pictures during this festive season, what you see is what you get, Enjoy!^^

Cupid strikes on 14th February

14th of February is the Christian Feast day of St.Valentine and a traditional day for sending loved ones a romantic card or gift. However, surprisingly this year Valentine falls parallel on the same day as Chinese New Year. 2 in 1 all in the same day is definitely a commotion..more like a catastrophe to me as i would have to leave town to visit my forebear(even the dead- to pay my respect). Therefore, without any other option, i had to celebrate in advance with my valentine. I totally respect valentines especially when it comes with roses, chocolates and absolute pampering of surprises.

A flower that would not wither
Real roses in red and pink only from my beloved (came with a box of chocolate and a card)
Lasagna with bread and chips
I had: Yummy iced chocolate with whipped cream and choco syrup as topping
He had: Mixed fruit blend with yogurt
Ahh-ha! I finally caught who he was cheating with! And she was right behind him all this time!
Hooligan!~ i look so freaking ugly!
A card hand-made by no other than me-(its a love thermometer and the heart shape bulb can be adjusted by moving it up and down) I'm so proud of myself, so perasan><..ha!
I don't understand why cupid is choose to represent the symbol of love because the last thing on my mind on Valentines would be a naked angel chasing after me with a bow and arrow..

Valentines can also be celebrated with your family, friends and even pets. I get to celebrate my Valentines not only with him but also with my family and friends^^Can't wait till next year's Valentine's day! Adieu precious~!

More than just You and I

Love is painful,
When you love somebody that could never love u
The tears and the stabbing words reveal
And you finally couldn’t endure
Wasted  for all this years
And you wonder why it took you so long
To finally realize
The truth that you always hide from
The truth that finally proves you wrong.

Looking back on those days,
We were in deep pain
Rather than feeling blessed of each other
We would fight like no other
There were times that you make me feel
Like nothing else matters
Cause when I’m with you
Everything seems possible

All I wanted
Was to be treated like I’m wanted
Guess I was too young to realize
And its too late to turn back time
I’ve given all I had
To a boy that was never mine
They say its all right to cry
Because this life is much more than just you and I

Its more than just You and I

Red is the Color

Attended my neighbor's eldest daughter's pick-up-the-bride ceremony. It was a simple pick up and go. Why i say so? This is cause the groom is a Christian, therefore, the Chinese wedding customs were not fully proceeded. As descended by our early Chinese ancestors, the groom and groomsmen will decorate the cars and drive them over to the bride's house in the crack of dawn. Nowadays, bridesmaids will have most of the fun as they would lock up the gates and set out few task for the groom. The groom must execute certain acts and answer the questions asked to show that he is strong enough to take care of the bride. Red packets(ang pao) must be proffer to the bridesmaid(as gift) and only then they could enter the house.
The groom and his groomsmen were forced to swallow slices of bitter gourd. They were also insists by the bridesmaids to sing a song for the bride. It was fun!
The bride and groom will then have to serve tea to their parents/grandparents followed by other older relatives. In return, they will give the newly weds red packets and jewelry for the bride.
Father of the bride is putting on the jewelry he prepared for his daughter.
Bride's sisters and brothers are then to serve tea and wish the newly weds a piece of good fortune. In return they will receive red packets from the newly weds.
Red umbrella is used to shield the bride as this symbolize her bringing many decedents to the groom's family.
As a tradition, the bride must return home after 3days of the wedding. In contemporary society, couples usually fly off for their honeymoon after their wedding. So they would have to carry out a substitute performance. Some choose to ride in the vehicle and go around the town 3times. This newly wed choose to walk around their wedding car 3times.

After that the whole family leave for the church and the wedding dinner in KL.I dint attend their wedding dinner but i was told that it was executed fantastically. On that same night, I was having dinner with my sisters, a time for us to gossip and keep up in each others life.
The Three-Musketeers of gossips!
Had pizza and fettuccine filled with lots of lots of bacon! Yummy!
Recommended by my cousin. Dave's restaurant at 1Utama KL. It was superb! The food was great, the service was excellent. Two thumbs up! You can check it out. Its at the old wing in 1U.
Bridge connecting the old wing and new wing of 1Utama.
OMG! I was flabbergasted by this huge flower as part of the exquisite Chinese New Year deco in Mid Valley Mega mall.
Red is the colour. As everywhere i go..i see red. Red lanterns, red cloth hanging by the door, red deco in the mall, red deco during the wedding and the 1 red thingy that would light up my day, that would not blur my eyes which sees full of red is the redness of ANG PAOssss! muaha! Not only CNY year redness, valentines day falls on CNY's eve. Red hearts and rosses to come. Red is the color this month! Red ROCKs! Till next time. Cheerio~
